Who is Tushita For?

Tushita is an open and welcoming space for all those interested in the practice and study of Buddhism, whether a beginner or experienced practitioner.
Beginners: Our international residential Introduction to Buddhism courses are ideal for those new to the teachings. The intensive 10-day courses offer an extensive introduction to Buddhist philosophy and meditation, including the mind and emotions, karma, rebirth, and compassion.
For Advanced Students: We provide a series of Intermediate/Advanced Courses that explore a selected topic and texts in greater depth. These courses are designed for students with some background knowledge of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and a unique opportunity to learn from experienced teachers within an intensive setting.
For Practitioners:Experienced practitioners can reserve our limited Personal Retreat accommodations for a 10-day minimum to pursue their own strict, personal Buddhist practices.

Our Programs & Courses

Tushita provides a wide program of residential courses, group retreats, and non-residential drop-in sessions during the year.
Residential Courses: Our most popular courses are the 10-day Introduction to Buddhism course. These courses are a holistic experience, combining teachings on core Buddhist concepts with daily guided meditation sessions. Participants spend almost their entire time in the course following a strict schedule and observing silence.
Group Retreats: We offer different group retreats dedicated to particular practices, including the Vajrasattva Retreat and Nyung Nays. These are a great chance for committed practitioners to intensify their practice.
Guided Meditation:We have daily guided meditation on Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am IST, both offline and online using Zoom.
Movie Days:Watch a movie with us on our Mondays and Fridays at 2:00 pm IST.

What to Expect & Center Discipline

Tushita is half-monastery and not a guesthouse. The center is structured to facilitate contemplative conditions.

Accommodation

There is simple, clean, and comfortable dormitory accommodation available, with very few single rooms on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that participants bring sleeping bags as there are cold nights on the mountain.

Meals

Three wholesome, tasty vegetarian meals are provided every day. We are unable to accommodate special dietary requirements.

Silence and Discipline Rules

o ensure a productive retreat setup, participants on residential courses must be in silence (no conversation at all) and not leave the premises for the entire period of the course. We also have some rules of discipline to make sure we have a respectful and harmonious atmosphere for everyone.

Digital Detox
