Yoga Institute in Mumbai
A Legacy of Yoga for All
Welcome to Yoga Institute in Mumbai - In the vibrant city of Mumbai, The Yoga Institute is a beacon of classical yoga. Established in 1918 by Shri Yogendraji, it is the world's oldest organized yoga center. Whereas most schools emphasize asanas for physical fitness, The Yoga Institute was founded as a "Life School," with the aim of instructing a holistic yogic way of living in everyday life to householders—everyday people working and living in the world. Its distinctive emphasis has given it the honor of the Prime Minister's Award for its exemplary contribution to the science of yoga.
